Time to Share

Carpets cry for sweeping,
laundry basket’s brimming,
kitchen left in disarray,
our lawn needs trimming.

Instead we cuddle leisurely,
in Daddy’s easy chair.
In my hand a book to read,
enjoying this time we share.

From Motherood, a book of poems
