Moroccan Gazelle Horns Recipe

Gazelle’s horn is a Moroccan appetizer and it looks like a crescent but its traditional name is Gazelle’s horns pastry because it is considered to have resemblance with Gazelle’s horns. This appetizer is specially made for parties and special occasions such as New Year Eve, Christmas Eve and wedding parties. These pastries are filled with honey and almonds. It is really a true Moroccan delicious treat. Following guide will teach you the recipe to make Gazelle’s horns.

Preparation time: It normally takes 35 minutes to prepare

Serving size: They are enough for 3 people.

Ingredients:

–          2 tablespoons of honey
–          1 egg yolk
–          ½ cup of sugar
–          ½ cup of Almonds
–          One pinch of cinnamon powder
–          5 tablespoon of butter
–          One egg white
–          300 grams of white flour
–          Oil for frying
–          Salt to taste

    Take a pot and add white flour, 2 tablespoon of butter, egg white, and salt in it. Now mix them to form nice dough.

    Now use the rolling pin to roll the dough and later cut the dough in spherical shapes.

    Now take another bowl and put 3 tablespoon of butter in it along with honey, cinnamon powder, egg yolk, sugar and almonds and mix them all together.

    Now pick up the spherical shapes of dough one by one and place the mixture on the dough spheres. Now seal the dough spheres using egg’s beat and  fold them so that they form a shape of half moon.

    Take a frying pan, pour some oil in it and heat it. Fry all of the Gazelle’s horns.


    Once you are done with frying, remove the pastries and scatter some icing sugar over them before serving.


    Your Gazelle’s horns are ready to serve.
