How to Set up Android Facebook Push Notifications
Facebook has become a very important medium, through which you can stay in touch with your family and friends. Now, you can use it throughout the day on your smartphone. The mobile app keeps on informing you, whenever someone sends a message, pokes you, tags you in a picture, or send a friend request.
Early versions of the Facebook app for Android didn’t support push notifications, but Facebook has now completely enabled this feature. With the help of this feature, you can get notifications without opening the app or visiting the website. It only works with Android versions 2.2 or newer, so make that that you have fresh versions of both Android and Facebook.
Once you get the latest versions, the procedure becomes very easy. You just need to go to Facebook settings, and enable the notifications. Here we specifically talk about the Ice Cream Sandwich users, but the procedure is almost identical for all the fresh editions.

First of all, you need to ensure that you phone is up and running. Now, update your Facebook app. For this, go to Google’s Play Store. Push the option button, and go to ‘My apps’.
Tap the Facebook, and push the Update option. Wait for the latest version to download. If you already have the latest version, this step is not necessary. Before going to Play Store, make sure that your internet is working properly.

Having downloaded the latest version of Facebook app, the job is very simple afterwards. Open the app, and push the ‘Options Menu’ to reach the Settings. These settings are only about the app, and do not make any impact on your device.

Here you will see a box right next to ‘Notifications’. Check the box, and it will start your notifications. The job is not over yet. Scroll down, and select the ‘Notification Ringtone’. There are a few others options as well, regarding the nature of the notifications.
Pick the notifications of your choice. Having done so, tap the Home button to get back to the Android home screen. Now, the app will surely notify you about the future happenings on Facebook.
