Our recipe here teaches you the creative art of soup making in a very easy to master way. Spring Onion Miso soup is a Japanese product, made from simple ingredients that combine to give a wonderful taste.
Ingredients
- Yellow onion - 1 medium
- White miso paste - 2 tbsp
- Cloves garlic, chopped - 5
- Sprig spring onion, finely sliced - 1
- Sake - 1 tsp
- Water - 3 cups
- Salt - ¼ tsp or to taste
- Cooking oil - ½ to 1 tsp
- Pinch of ground white pepper, optional (freshly ground pepper enhances both the taste and aroma).
Instructions
- Take medium sized onion and skin it.
- Wash it and cut it into thin long strips.
- Mix the miso paste with 2 tablespoons of water.
- Place a pot over the stove on medium heat.
- Add warm oil in it and sauté the garlic till its fragrant.
- Top it with the onions and toss up.
- Fry everything together for three minutes or till it turns into a translucent colour.
- Add in water to the pot followed by the miso paste.
- Stir to mix and then cover up with lid.
- Let the soup simmer for around 10 minutes on low heat.
- Pour the soup into a serving dish.
- Slice up the spring onion and top it over the soup.
- Season it with salt and pepper according to taste requirement.
- Serve hot!
