How To Cover a Scar when Tanning

Everyone has the right to look attractive and beautiful. While some are happy with their natural look, others try to alter it through different means. When it comes to beauty, skin and complexion are one of the most important things. Some people prefer tanning their skin to attain a more attractive tone, which really works if it suits you.

By laying out in the sun or absorbing the rays in a tanning bed, you can obtain a natural tan. Many also prefer going to beach and getting a natural tan alongside relaxing. However, if you have any scars on your body, it is imperative that you cover those scars properly while tanning as the sun’s rays can have an adverse effect on them. If you are being careless, sun rays or the tanning bed will worsen the scar and may result in permanent effects.

However, if you are careful about your own self, you can easily avoid the side effects of tanning, without having to wait till your scars are healed.

    Cover the scar

While tanning, the best thing for you is to completely cover the scar, which is very easy if the mark is on your feet because you can wear a sock or place an adhesive bandage over the scar. If you are a tattoo lover, you can also cover the tattoo in order to stop it from fading early.

    Tanning lotion

If you are tanning under sun, you must use a tanning lotion in order to protect your skin. Use additional tanning lotion on the scar as it will stop it from deteriorating. Make sure that you have put the cream/lotion right before you expose yourself to the sun rays.

There are numerous tanning lotions available in markets but you should go for a credible and branded product because skin is an extremely sensitive organ of our body and we must be very careful about it.

Keep the scar out of the tanning bed

If you are tanning in the bed and not under the sun, it is recommended that you keep the scar out of the tanning bed. For example, if the scar is on your right arm, you can make an effort to keep the right arm out of the bed or the booth. However, this is not the ideal scenario because you will create an awkward tan line by keeping a specific part of your body away from the bed.
