The first thing that you need to do is to identify the possible cause of their headache. If the person is under a lot of stress, then try to make them relaxed by fixing them a cup of coffee. If they were in sun-light for too long, a bath would help them feel fresh and curb their headache to an extent. However, if the person is not really sure why their head started hurting and complains about their eyes hurting as well, take them to a dark room that has a bed in it. Draw all the curtains to make sure there is no light in the room at all.

Tell the person to lie down on the bed. Make sure that the pillows are soft so that they do not put too much pressure on the person’s head.

  • 3

Cover them with blankets so that they do not feel cold. The aim is to make the person feel as much relaxed as possible.

Give them a head massage. Use your fingers to rub the temples and push a bit. Ask them if the massage is having any soothing effect on the pain in their head. Massage the side of eyes as well.

If the person keeps complaining about severe headache, fill up a bucket with warm water and grab a face towel. Dip the towel in warm water and then put it on their head. Be careful while you do this, as you would not want to get the bed wet.

After a minute or two, dip the face towel again in warm water and put it on the head again. Repeat the process for a few minutes. Keep giving them a head massage while the towel is on their forehead.

Ask them after a few minutes if they are feeling any better. If they say yes, then this means that the towel and massage are working. Continue doing it until the person confirms that the headache is gone.
