Saint Patrick’s Day is also known as ‘The Day of the Festival of Patrick’ and is widely celebrated on the 17th of March to mark the death anniversary of Saint Patrick. Green colour is widely associated with the day and people wear green clothes, ribbons and shamrocks to celebrate the holiday.

Another tradition that has been associated with the day is that of Green Beer. People add green food colouring to their Beers as a widespread tradition and celebrate the day with their friends and family. The process is easy and takes only a while as a few drops of green food colouring is added to the beer of your choice

Things Required:

– Light coloured Beer
– Green food colouring
– A Beer glass

Instructions

  • 1

    Choose the right Beer

This is the most important part in preparing Green Beer for the St Patrick’s Day. The lighter the colour of the beer, the better it will look in the end. Darker Beers can also be used for this purpose but a lot of food colouring has to be added in that case which is mostly not preferred by many people.
Irish Ale and Pale Ale are good examples of light-coloured beer. You should choose the beer which you prefer. If you pick a beer which you have not tried before or you do not like, you will certainly not like the Green Beer

Add drops of food colouring in the Beer glass

There are two ways to add the four to six drops of the food colouring to the Beer. The first one is to add the food colouring to the Beer and the second one is to add the food colouring before you have added the Beer in the glass. Adding food colour to the bottom of the glass is better as it gives a great look when green foam gathers at the top.

    Add Beer to the glass

Now add the Beer to the glass. Make sure you pour the drink slowly as the beer to avoid spillage. The best way is to add some beer, wait for a while and carry the same process until the drink is empty in the bottle.

    Stir the mixture and Enjoy

Although you can clearly see the Green Beer in the glass, but it is always good to stir the mixture once so that all the ingredients are well combined. Enjoy the drink with friends and family
