How to Write Decorative Letters for Home

Letter writing has become an obsolete method to be in touch with near and dear ones but it does not reduce its significance. You may have to send letters or post cards to your relatives on different auspicious occasions.

Though, writing a simple letter will convey your message but if you say it in a creative manner that will leave a pleasant affect. You should decorate your letter when the recipient is someone special like your parents, siblings, wife or kids.

Some decorating methods are time consuming and require certain type of skills but there are also some simple and decent ways to make your letter special. By doing some simple and easy things you can make it significant and momentous.

    Use unusual paper or material:

    Remember the first thing that your addressee will notice is the paper or material on which you have sent the message. Try to be different and use unique paper. You may use glittering paper if the letter is carrying some good news or you can give a classic look to your letter by writing on parchment paper. You may use something else that is memorable for you and the receiver. It can be anything like a CD, an old envelop or a paper of personal diary.

    Add colours:

    You can decorate your letter by using coloured page, ink pens and pencils. These colours will add life to your message and if the recipient is of tender age then it will be amusing for him/her. Use dark ink with light colour paper or vice versa. Choose your colours according to the message or occasion. If it is a Christmas letter then green and red are the most appropriate colours.

    Printed letters:

    Instead of writing with your hand, you may send a printed letter as it will give you the margin to decorate it properly. You can print a photo of yours or make a cartoon character for kids on the paper. Moreover, some interesting font will also make your letter more pleasing for the eyes.

    Skip words and use pictures:

    If you believe that your addressee is intelligent enough to connect the dots then you can use just pictures to convey your message. Another way is to write an incomplete sentence and then insert picture to complete.

    Pick words from magazines:

    You can do a different thing by pasting or cuttings of magazines or newspapers. For example, pick a printed word “Hello” from any magazine and then paste it on the paper. This will beautify your letter in a creative way.
