How to Write a Groom’s Speech

It’s true that most of the grooms don’t get too involved in their wedding plans. Naturally, we will question that masculinity of a broom who knows the difference between two different flowers when there doesn’t seem to be one. Most of the times, it is the bride who takes charge of almost all of the wedding planning which means that there are only a few things left for the groom to do. However, these things should be done in the right way. Of one of the things that a groom has to get right is the groom’s speech which has to be delivered in an effective manner. Unfortunately, most of the grooms get their speech horribly wrong as they always seem to forget that the aim of their speech is to make the future wife feel loved and special. No need to tell the audience how one day your wife got so drunk that she forgot her way back home – that would be quite embarrassing and awkward for her!

This will help you structure your speech well and you will easily talk about all the key moments. However, the list should not be so long that your audience gets bored. It would be better if you chalk out the best  5 romantic moments.

While delivering your speech, you would do well not to get all ‘emo’ about it. Try to keep the lovey-dovey cheese to a bare minimum. Although women want and crave romance but that does not mean that they would want you to recite some Gregorian love poetry. Keep it as original as you can and just stay specific to your relationship.

You’re married. It’s your big day and you should be on top of the world. Choose your words carefully. It would be better if you avoid using the ‘nagging wife’ stereotypes in your speech as its not flattering or funny by any means.
