How to Clean a School Bus
School buses can get really dirty given the number of children floating around with lunch boxes and drinks every day. Properly cleaning a school bus may seem like a lot of work, but it is essential to ensure that children travel safely and are not exposed to common diseases which thrive in unclean surroundings. The procedure is very simple and is much like cleaning a car and a room, both of which you would already be familiar with.
Things Required
– Anti-bacterial cleaner
– Window cleaner
– Floor Cleaner
– Paper Towel
– Excess of Water
– Broom
– Trash Bag
– Dustpan
Instructions
-
1
Park the bus near a water source so you can easily wash it.
-
2
Before using water however, pick up the loose trash and collect it in a dust bin or trash can.
-
3
Check the seats and floor for any gum or candy. Scrape the stuck items and let them fall to the floor of the bus, you can get them off when sweeping.
-
4
Using a broom, sweep the small trash and dirt as well as the scraped gums and candies into your dustpan and transfer it to the trash bag.
-
5
Use a good anti-bacterial cleaner (easily available at your nearest store) to spray the seats, walls and handrails and let it stay on the surfaces for several minutes.
-
6
Meanwhile, clean the windows of the bus using a window cleaner. Let the cleaning liquid stay on the window panes before thoroughly rubbing it off.
-
7
Wipe the seats, walls and handrails to remove the anti-bacterial liquid. You can use paper towels for this.
-
8
Open the windows to allow air flow which will remove any fumes or smell left behind by the chemicals used for cleaning.
-
9
Mop the floor of the bus using a floor cleaning liquid. Most of the times you are instructed to mix the cleaner with some water in a bucket before using, so make sure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
-
10
Make sure no water is left on the floor once you are done cleaning it. If the floor is made of metal, it can rust due to left over moisture.
-
11
Let the interior of the bus dry completely before closing the windows and doors in order to clean the exterior.
-
12
To clean the exterior of the bus, mix some detergent and water in a bucket to apply it on the outer surface of the bus using a mop. Rinse the bus thoroughly with normal water.
-
13
Soak a sponge in the detergent solution and rub it on the wheels. Scrub them with a brush and wash properly with water.
-
14
To clean the outside of the windows, front screen and mirrors, use the same window cleaner you had used inside the bus.
