How to Fix a Clogged Ear from Wax
Clogged or plugged ears may be caused by a variety of factors but ear wax is the most common and natural cause. Ear wax is a lubricant produced by cerumen glands and acts as a protective agent, preventing foreign objects like dirt and bugs from entering the ear canal. However, hardened wax in your ear canal can cause hearing loss, pain, dizziness and balance problems.
If you are suffering from cerumen impaction or hardened ear wax trapped in the ear canal, you should visit your doctor at the earliest. However, you can also treat this problem at home quite easily using hydrogen peroxide, after which your hearing should improve.
Things Required:
– 2 small bowls (one to contain the cleaning solution and fill the syringe the other to catch the drained solution.)
– Hydrogen peroxide or mineral oil
– Warm water
– Ear syringe/ear dropper
– Warm compress
– Decongestants or antihistamines

Make a wax-softening solution
You can use either of hydrogen peroxide, glycerine, baby or mineral oil to make your wax-softening solution. To make the hydrogen peroxide solution, mix an equal amount of water with peroxide in a mixing bowl. Make sure your solution is lukewarm. Too hot or too cold solution can cause dizziness. -

Fill the solution in an eyedropper or ear syringe
Fill an eyedropper or ear syringe with this peroxide solution. The ear dropper ensures easy access to the ear canal. -

Lie down on your side with the affected ear tipped up
Lie down on your side with the affected ear facing up towards the ceiling and straighten your ear canal by pulling the earlobe away from the neck and up towards the face. -

Pour peroxide solution into your ear canal
Place the ear dropper or ear syringe at the opening of your ear and squeeze five to ten drops of the peroxide solution into your ear. Let it stay in your ear canal for 15 to 30 minutes, permitting it to soften the hard ear wax. Do not change your position during this time. -

Let the ear wax drain out of the ear canal
Put a cotton ball at the opening of your ear and let the softened ear wax and the per oxide solution drain out of your ear.
