How to Stop Basketball Hoops Falling Over

All players need to start somewhere, this is because it is no easy trip to the top of the charts and it requires a lot of hard work to go on and become the very best.

Most players tend to start playing at a very young age, and they mostly kick things off in their own backyard. As a result, it is fairly common to see backyards with basketball hoops in them.

Having a basketball hoop from an early age allows you to develop as player, and gives you an edge over just about everyone else.

However, most hoops in these backyards tend to break off easily and don’t tend to remain secure over time.

    Pre plan location

The first thing you need to do before you go on and install the hoop is to decide just where you want to place it. This is because when you secure the hoop, it is going to be permanent. This means that it won’t be easily moved and it won’t be an easy job to keep adjusting it. This is why you need to be certain over just where you are going to place it.

Once you do decide, it is smart to mark out that area, so that you don’t have any issues later on in life.

Check what type of hoop you have

The other thing you need to do, is to check what type of hoop you have. Some of these hoops come with bases that can stabilize them, simply by adding water or sand to the base. So all you have to do is flip through the instruction booklet and figure out if your hoop has a sand or water base.

If it does, you should follow the instructions in the book and secure it.

    Add additional support

Now the other thing you need to do is to add additional support to the hoop. If you have a free standing hoop, you can do this by drilling it into the wall with more screws so that it stays in place and doesn’t budge even with the most amount of force being exerted against it.

If it is a hoop with a base, then you should get extra bags of sand or any other heavy thing and place them on the base. This will ensure it stays in place and doesn’t tip over easily.
