How to Collect Toys for Tots
Toys for Tots is a non-profit organization which seeks to distribute toys among the children of low-income families during the Christmas season. The organization, which was established in 1947 by the US Marines, is funded by local community donations and volunteers in different states all over the US. Apart from toy donations, it also accepts monetary donations, which can be made online.
The gifts are collected from October through December every year and get distributed before Christmas. This is an extra-ordinary program which helps bring smiles on the faces of deprived children. Keep in mind that underprivileged children feel most deprived on special occasions such as Christmas and other festivals.

Before you start collecting toys for the program, you need to search for local offices of the Toys for Tots organization in your area. Visit the Toys for Tots website, which will help you find local campaign offices.
On the home page of the site, click on ‘Find a Local Campaign Office’, selecting your state from the drop-down menu. The site will then guide you towards your nearest office. -

Contact the local office
Contact the office of the program in your area to know where you can drop-off the toys. Visit the official website of the Toy for Tots in your region, which can also guide you towards drop-off locations. On the website, go to ‘Donate Toys’ to see further details. -

Drop unwrapped toys at the nearest drop-off location
Drop-off unwrapped toys at the closest drop-off location. Unwrapped toys make it easier for the volunteers to sort them according to gender and age group. The volunteers will then distribute the toys among the needy children between mid-December to Christmas. -

Take help from your friends and relatives
In order to make a bigger contribution towards the program, you can take the help of your friends, colleagues and relatives. Have a collective pool of toys or any kind of a donation that you wish to make towards Toys for Tots as it will help more and more children.
