How to Apply Glue in Hair Extensions

Having long luxurious hair is every girl’s dream but waiting for your hair to grow out naturally can be very annoying. However, there is a way by which you can have such hair without much trouble. You should consider hair extensions using glue to achieve that but keep this in mind that the glue should be used properly to avoid damaging your hair.

Things Required:

– Comb and hair clips
– Individual hair wefts
– Bonding hair glue in the appropriate colour for your hair
– Hot glue gun (optional)
– Glue sticks (optional)
– Hair dryer

Instructions

  • 1

    Wash and dry your hair

The first thing you need to do before applying glue in hair extensions is to wash your hair with a good shampoo. Once your hair is washed thoroughly, dry it using a towel and do not use blow dryer at this stage. Keep this in mind that you cannot use hair products that contain a lot of oil.

  • 2

    Comb your hair

After drying your hair, tenderly comb it. Using a comb and hair clips, divide your hair in sections to add extensions. Make sure that the sections are well combed so that you can add extensions easily.

  • 3

    Cut the hair weft

Now where you have parted your hair, hold the hair weft up and measure the width. Once that is done, carefully cut the hair wefts and keep this in mind that the width should be very appropriate.

  • 4

    Turn over the hair weft

Once you have cut the hair weft, turn it over in order to place the glue. If you are using a bonding glue, apply the glue on the inside top strip.

  • 5

Place the weft along the scalp

Now, this is the time when you need to quicken your pace. Don’t let the glue dry and place the weft along the scalp. Be careful here and do not add glue to your hair. After placing the weft, hold it for 30 to 40 seconds.

  • 6

    Blow-dry your hair

Now use a blow dryer to dry the glue. This will secure the extension and will speed up the process. You can skip this step if you want but it is recommended that you don’t.

  • 7

    Use a hot glue gun

You can use a hot glue gun to bond your extensions. The main advantage of using a hot glue gun is that it does not require blow drying.

  • 8

Use a flatiron to blend the extensions

At the end, you can use a flatiron to make your extensions look real.
