How to Display a Pen Collection
There are various hobbies that everyday people partake in and some of those hobbies involve collecting various items that attract or interest them. Some enjoy collecting various stamps, others collecting canvas with random blotches of paint on them (these people seem to justify their spending by calling what they buy ‘art’) and in some cases, there are also those who collect pens.
We are not talking about the inexpensive pens that are mass produced in the millions but rather the high end, hand crafted works of true art, which are presented as gifts for various accomplishments in a person’s lifetime.
These particular pens can hold special meaning to a person and although, the age of the pen may soon be over, nothing will ever replace the sensation using ink to write on paper.
However, having or owning a pen collection is all well and good but there is no point in having them if they are locked up away in a cupboard for no one, even yourself, to see. At the same time, flaunting them may make you seem a bit pretentious and snobbish, so the trick is to find the right balance of both modesty and pride.
Things Required:
– a spotlight or lamp
– a desk or mini-cupboard (preferably with a glass roof and surrounded by wood on all sides)
– a place to keep them
– the collection of pens
Instructions
-
1
Place either a green or navy blue ‘carpet’ on the inside of the pen collection case.
-
2
Place the pens on top, evenly spaced with the tips facing the same direction.
-
3
Place a lamp or spotlight directly overhead to best illuminate the collection.
-
4
Cover the wooden case with a glass ceiling so that the entire collection is visible.
-
5
Place the case in the corner of your office or study desk as this is the most appropriate place.

If however, your collection becomes rather vast then you may wish to invest in a cupboard with a glass door and sloped separators. Internal lighting is also recommended for the best results.
