How to Make an Indoor Fish Pond
Making an indoor fish pond is a simple task as long as one has patience and has planned everything in detail. It requires a fair amount of hard work, physical labour and attention to detail but the end results are always worth it.
However, there are a number of guidelines you can follow and there are even options where one does not need to construct or damage property.

– A contractor who will dig up the area where the pond will be or an aquarium shop to provide a large tank
– Plants
– Fresh water fish or turtles.
– A filter
– Lighting
– Décor to hide the glass

If you are digging up an area in the house to install the insulation then a contractor would be advised. However, if you do wish to go it alone then make sure you are not interfering with any wiring or plumbing. Dig out the area to the depth that you want. Pour cement to reinforce the area and add a layer or rubber insulating across the surface. This will help prevent leaks.
Alternatively, you could place a glass aquarium on top of the surface of your house based on your specifications. These usually do not cost too much to make but you will need to check with your local suppliers. Once it has been place, you can cover the edges and sides with some landscaping to make it look and feel natural. -

With the pond set up, add some gravel or clay and insert the plants. Basically landscape the pond. Make sure is plenty of life in there and it is not just a random pool of water.

Keep a landmark or focal point such as a waterfall or statue to bring everything together.

Before adding the water, add the lighting if you wish and install the filter. This will reduce the number of times you need to change the water and keep it clean.

Add the water gradually and let the pond rest for a few days before adding any fish or turtles. Make sure to properly maintain the pond by regularly checking the filter and changing the water. Remember to only use fresh water fish in your pond.
