  Originally, Champs Elysees was considered as a field and market gardens. In 1616, Marie de Medici decided to enlarge the area with an avenue of trees. In 1724, the street was extended beyond the Place de I’Etoile. In the 18th century, the Champs Elysees became a popular and fashionable avenue which started to attract the people greatly.
