How to Record Audio Files with Adobe Soundbooth

If you want to record a music file or even want to mix your own voice with any other music file, then you can use Adobe Soundbooth.     Run the Adobe Soundbooth program. If you are a Microsoft Windows user, then you will find the program icon by opening the “Start” menu and moving your cursor to the “Programs” option. A sub-menu will open. Locate Adobe CS5 or any other version that you have installed in your system. Move the mouse pointer to it and you will see Adobe Soundbooth icon appearing in another menu that opens.

    If you are a Mac user, then you can find the program icon in “Applications”.

    Create a "Empty Audio File". You can do it by opening the “File” menu from the left top corner of the program. When the menu opens, move the mouse pointer to “New” and a sub-menu will appear, with “Empty Audio File” option. Click it.

    After you create a new “Empty Audio File”, a dialog box will appear on the screen. You should select a "Sample Rate of 22050" and then click “OK”.

    Now locate the red “Record” button at the bottom of the program. Click it and the recording dialog box will appear on the screen. You will now be able to record the audio or music of your choice.

    Click the “Record” button and the recording will start. You can now speak or sing in the microphone, along with the music that you want to be played in the background. Make sure the audio that you want to be recorded should clearly reach the microphone you are using. Click the “Stop” button when you want to end the recording process.

    Open the “File” menu once again and click the “Save As” option. Give a name to the file and click “Save”. The new recorded file has now been saved in your hard disk drive.
