Measure the intensity of pain
It is of considerable importance that you measure the intensity of the pain. Remember that, it is highly depended on the level of injury you have received. Keep in mind that if the injury is severe, it will require more time to heal. However, if the injury is not harsh, your jammed finger will be healed in a relatively faster time. It can be due to mobility loss, instant bruising, a severe fracture, dislocation or broken finger. -

Ice it
In order to control the pain on immediate basis it is recommended that you lift up your finger for almost 15 minutes and ice it. If the pain is too severe, then you should ice it until a significant decrease is observed in pain. You can also use Epsom salts for pain. -

Buy finger splint
After you have done icing, you must buy a finger splint from a drug store. With the help of finger splints, you can easily subsidise your pain. You must go to the drugstore for finger splint but if due to some reason, you cannot, then you should take a small stick and tie it with your finger with the help of a medical tape. Do not use an ordinary tape as medical tape will work better and help you heal in a quick manner. -

Tape finger with the next one
After you have taped a stick to your jammed finger, you must tie it to the other finger, the one which is perfectly fine. Generally, it is done in the case of small fingers but it also plays a reasonable role in reducing pain. This will also allow help you in the movement of your finger. -

You must also take an effective pain killer to reduce your pain.
