BBQ chicken pizza is one of the most delicious recipes. It is a perfect blend of cheese, chicken and sauce. It is mostly prepared in an oven but you can also cook it on a grill. It is not difficult to prepare a BBQ chicken pizza through any of the above given methods. However, you have to be a little more cautious while cooking it on the grill as it may slip away while you move it.
Ingredients
- Boneless skinless chicken breast halves - 2 (6 ounces each)
- Refrigerated pizza crust - 1 tube (13.8 ounces)
- Olive oil - 2 teaspoons
- Salt - ¼ teaspoon
- Pepper - ¼ teaspoon
- Barbecue sauce, divided - 1 cup
- Minced fresh cilantro - ¼ cup
- Red onion, thinly sliced - 1 medium
- Shredded gouda cheese - 2 cups (8 ounces)
Instructions
- First of all, you have to sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Moisten the paper towel with the cooking oil by using the long-handled tongs.
- Then, coat the grill rack with the help of the paper towel.
- Cover the grill and preheat it for around 5-7 minutes until the thermometer shows the temperature of around 170 degrees.
- Now, you have to divide the dough into half and on an evenly floured surface, roll each half into a 12-inch x 10-inch rectangle.
- After that, dough both the sides with some cooking oil and place them on the grill.
- Cover the pieces and grill them over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes (until they become brown).
- Then, remove the pieces from the grill and cut the chicken into small pieces.
- Spread sauce on each side of the grilled pizza.
- Make layer on it with chicken, onions, cheese and cilantro or any other thing which you want e.g. you can use mushrooms.
- Now, move it back to the grill and cook it for around 4-5 minutes or until it becomes light brown from the base and the cheese is melted completely.
