Praying is a part of almost every religion in this world. Be it Christianity, Islam, Buddhism or Jewish. A prayer is a sort of physical exercise that is performed by the person towards his GOD. In the religion Islam, a Muslim has to pray before ALLAH Almighty five times a day. This is compulsory on every follower of the religion. The first step in effectively praying is that the person should make a habit of praying before GOD.

To effectively start with this act, one should make a habit of going to the nearby mosque and pray there. A mosque is a place where all the Muslims gather and perform the prostration before GOD together. This carries greater importance and value than praying alone at your home.

Fasting is another act of piousness in the religion Islam in which a Muslim is required to stay hungry and thirsty for the entire day, starting from the morning prayers of Fajr and concluding the act of piousness in the evening, after the prayers of Maghrib. Maghrib is the time of the setting of the sun and during the time period between Fajr and Maghrib, a Muslim must avoid all sorts of eating or drinking habits and stay hungry for the whole day.

To effectively improve fasting, one should make a habit of keeping fasts throughout the year at other occasions as there are plenty of occasions in the Islamic calendar that allow a Muslim to fast. Keeping these occasional fasts will help the Muslim to make a habit of observing the act and this will in turn make his fast more effective.

Finally, a Muslim should make sure that he stops listening to music and avoid all other sorts of ill deeds that are considered as not acceptable in the religion of Islam. This habit will also help the Muslim to improve in all aspects and in turn make his fasting and praying more paying and reward-able.
