Are you tired to trying traditional salad recipes and now want something new? Or are you expecting some special guests at home and you plan to stun them with an amazing gelatin salad? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, then you should try making strawberry-banana jello salad, which looks beautiful when placed on the table, and is amazing in taste too.
Ingredients
- 1 package (6 ounces) strawberry gelatin
- 2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen sweetened sliced strawberries, partially thawed
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
- ½ to ¾ cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup mashed firm bananas (about 3 medium)
- 2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons sugar
Instructions
- Take a large bowl and fill it with water. Now, dissolve gelatin in it. Add in strawberries, bananas, pineapple and nuts and stir well. Make sure the mixture becomes thick.
- Now, take a 13-in. x 9-in. dish and fill it with half of the mixture that you have just created. Place the dish into the refrigerator and allow the mixture to get chilled, or until well set.
- Set the other half of the mixture aside.
- Take sour cream, sugar and vanilla and mix them well together. Spread this mixture over the dish of chilled gelatin.
- Take the remaining gelatin mixture and pour it on the top.
- Place the salad in the refrigerator and chill overnight.
