How to Make a Toad in the Hole for Breakfast

Toad in the Hole is a very delicious and nutritious meal for breaskfast.

Utensils: knife or a bread cutter, glass, bowls, spatula, large non stick pan

Ingredients:

– 4 slices of Pullman loaf bread, sliced about a 1-inch thick
– 7 eggs
– 2 cups milk
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 3 Tbsp chopped parsley
– 1 Tbsp butter
– 1 Tbsp olive oil
– Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
– Tabasco, to taste

    Prepare the bread loafs

    Take a loaf of the bread which has an approximate thickness of one inch. Now using a cutter, carve out a hole of about 2 inch diameter right at the center. If you don’t have a cutter, a sharp knife can also be used. One other way is to use the edges of a small juice glass. Be sure to press gently into the bread. Any excessive force can ruin the shape, which is of utmost importance in this dish. Repeat the process for the all four loafs.

    Soak the bread loafs

    Now take a bowl and add milk, 3 eggs, ¾ cup of Parmesan, 2 Tbsp of parsley, salt, pepper, and Tabasco in it. This mixture will used to soak bread loafs. The whole process takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

    Heat the pan

    Turn your stove to medium heat and as the bread soaks, heat the butter and olive oil in a large non-stick pan.

    Toast the loaf

    Now remove the loaf from the mixture carefully, drain it a bit, and then place it in the well heated pan.

    Add eggs

    The remaining four eggs are now added in the center of the four bread loaf and are cooked till the egg whites give a cooked look. This will take about 3 to 5 minutes.

    Turn the slice

    Use a spatula, turn the bread loafs and allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes.

    Add seasoning

    Once loafs are done, sprinkle Parmesan, parsley, a little sea salt, and a lot of freshly ground pepper.
