How to Make Sausage Con Queso Dip

Ingredients:
Lean ground beef: 1 lb
Cooking oil or vegetable oil, according to requirement
Hot Italian sausage: 1 lb
Onion: 1 large
Mushroom soup: 1 can (about 10 ounce)
Diced tomatoes with seasonings: 1 can (about 19 ounces)
Velveeta cheese: 2 lbs
Jalapeno peppers: 5
Hot salsa: 2 cups
Tortilla chips for dipping and serving, optional

Instructions

    Pour some vegetable or cooking oil into a large skillet or wok and put on stove to warm, setting the heat at normal range.

    In the mean time, peel one large onion and cut it into fine cubes.

    Once the oil is warm, add in the chopped onion and stir fry until lightly brown from edges and tender.

    Top the onion with 1 lb of lean ground beef and 1 lb of hot Italian sausage. Carry on stir frying until the ingredients mix well and the meat mixture is lightly brown in colour.

    Now, remove the skillet or wok from the heat for a few seconds and drain the fat – if any.

    Top the meat-mixture with 10 ounces of mushroom soup, 19 ounces of diced tomatoes with seasonings, 2 lbs of cheese, finely chopped jalapeno peppers   and 2 cups of hot salsa.

    Use a wooden ladle to mix up the ingredients and let the mixture simmer for 5 to 8 minutes until the cheese melts completely.

    Take away the skillet or wok from heat, pour the Sausage Con Queso Dip into a large bowl and serve with some fresh tortilla chips. Enjoy!
