Cleaning Stainless Steel Appliances
Although lauded for it’s aesthetic appeal and modern styling, stainless steel appliances present a cleaning challenge as compared to their standard black or white counterparts. Stainless steel appliances are growing in popularity and though, they are notorious for fingerprints and other marks that can be seen under most lighting, the actual cleaning and maintenance is not difficult if you are willing and able.
Things Required:
– a few old lint-free rags (old white t-shirts work better than almost anything)
– distilled white vinegar
– baking soda
– pails (2 will suffice)
– warm water
– dish soap (a few drops)
– a kitchen sponge
Instructions
-
1
Soap Water
The first step in this process is to give your appliance(s) a thorough cleaning with a rag that has been soaked in warm soap water and wrung out. Add a few drops of dish soap to a pail of water to create the cleaning solution. -
2
Vinegar
Once you have completed the soap water cleaning, dip a new rag in vinegar until it is damp. Go over the appliance once again, covering all the area with the damp cloth. Moisten the cloth as required. -

In case of tough stains
For stoves or dishwashers that may have food stains, prepare a solution that is one part baking soda to 3 parts water. Dip the soft side of a kitchen sponge into this solution and use it to scrub off the food stains. Repeat as necessary. -

Final Go Over
Once you have completed the above, take a new cloth and wet it with warm tap water. Wring the cloth out and use it to re-clean the appliance once more. The appliance should now be shining like they do in the TV commercials.
