Get Dubai Visitor Visa for Canadians

Canada, at one point, was on the white label list of countries for the UAE visa. This meant that a person with a Canadian passport could book a ticket and fly to Dubai or any other part of the UAE without requiring a visa in advance. This all changed in early 2011 when it became mandatory for Canadians to get a visa in advance if they wished to travel to Dubai UAE.

However, the good news is that the government of UAE has made it very easy for any Canadian to get a visa for Dubai.  Visa can be attained from UAE embassy in Ottawa, Canada, or even via any of the UAE airlines such as Emirates airline or Etihad Airways. Moreover, some of the hotels you will be staying at also offer visa services. Canadians also do not need a sponsor for a visit to Dubai, but if you have a relative who has residency in Dubai, he/she can sponsor your visit visa.

If you are planning to visit Dubai, here is a StepbyStep guide on how Canadians can get a visa for Dubai UAE.

Once you have submitted a visitor visa application with all the required documents, it does not take long for the visa to be issued. From my experience with getting a visa from the airlines, it takes about five working days.
