How to Make a Shape Using Words

You can always find innovative ways to write text for advertisement or any other purpose. Conventional way to reading text from left to right and top to bottom might get boring at one point. You can be creative by writing text in different shapes and images to create interest in the readers. Exposing text in a graphical manner will not only depict your artistic taste but also look creative than conventionally written pieces of texts. Photoshop Elements can be used very effectively to make shapes out of words.

Instructions

    If you already have Photoshop installed on your computer, it is fine. Otherwise, you have to download it online and install it to your computer before beginning the process.

    Open up Photoshop and click on the ‘File’ button on the top left corner to open up the menu. Select ‘New’ to open up a blank document.

    Click the ‘T’ icon from the Tool palette and this will enable you to insert a text box in the document. You can click and drag the mouse to create the text box anywhere you desire to write the text. Type your text in the box and then hit the green checkmark to confirm it.

    Go to the Layer window and right click on it. Options list will appear and you have to select the ‘Simplify’ command. This will convert your written text into editable graphic.

    Now click on the Tool palette to select the shape of your written text. Icons representing different shapes will appear and you have to select the shape of your choice, for example a circle, triangle, oval etc.

    You have to drag the canvas to form into the shape you have selected from the Tools palette. After doing it, drag the top of the Layer window beneath the second layer so that the shape doesn’t obscure your text.

    Now click on the lasso shaped button in the Tool palette and then drag a selected region around the first letter of the written text.

    Find the icon with a four-headed arrow in the Tool palette. This is the ‘Move’ tool and you will use it to reposition your text letters. Drag the first letter you have selected earlier and move it into the right position according to the shape you determined to draw.

    You can find the resizing tool, being depicted with a handle in the Tool palette, and use it to resize the letters to fit in the shape.

    Click on the green checkmark to finalize the reshaping, surrounding the box.

    Repeat these steps for every character of your text to transform it according to your desired shape.
