You should use 5mm sized Allen wrench to make the shift cable anchor bolt loose on its derailleur. In order to check where the bolt is, you need to follow the cable of the shifter until its terminus comes.
-
3
Then, you will be requiring nose pliers preferably needle-nose pliers for cutting the metal crimp from the end of the cable of shifter. After doing that, you should pull the cable of the shift from derailleur.
-
4
Now locate the cable hatch, which is usually smaller in size, on the body of grip shifter. After locating it, hold the head side of this cable and pull it from the grip shifter.
-
5
After that hold the stationary hand grip firmly and slide it off from handlebar. After performing this task, you should loosen the clamp bolt which is used to lock the shift to the handlebar.
-
6
Now it’s time to slide on the new grip shift at the place from where you have removed the older one. Properly adjust the new grip on the handle bar before making the clam bolt tight.
-
7
Now you should reinstall the stationary grip that you slid off from the handlebar. You can use talcum powder over the handlebar which will make it easy to slide it on the handlebar.
-
8
Now you should insert the cable hatch and put it into the shift cable. Holds its other end when it appears from the other side and pull it in order to make its head fixed in the grip shaft.

After that, shift the new grip shift in order to match up the position of the gear and derailleur and you are done with replacing the grip shift.
