How to Use Carrots for Health and Beauty

Carrots have numerous health benefits. They are great for our body as well our skin. The incorporation of carrots in our diet and our beauty routine nourishes us inside out. Nowadays, we live in a world where we are consuming fast food and facing a polluted environment, it is essential to take time out for ourselves and work on our health and beauty. Carrots can make the face appear fresh and makes the skin glow. As we all know that the face is a mirror of our looks so it is important to take care of it. Carrots can be used in facial masks to give great results. To improve our health, carrots can be taken in salads, juices etc.

    Oily skin can be treated very quickly and easily with a facial mask. You will need boiling water, 3 carrots and 3 tablespoons of honey. Boil water in a pot; cook three carrots in it till they are tender. Put the cooked carrots in a blender and add 3 tablespoons of pure honey. Blend them until they become a paste. Spread this mixture on your face and neck. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rest. Wash it with warm water and pat your face dry.

    Carrots are very beneficial for treating dry hair when mixed with avocado. You will need olive oil, carrots, boiling water and avocado. Chop a carrot in very small pieces and put them in a measuring glass, cover the carrots with olive oil. Boil water in a sauce pan and put the cup in the pot. Cook them in the pot for one hour and strain them. Take it off the heat and mix the oil-carrot mixture with a mashed avocado. Apply the mixture to your hair and let it stay on for one hour, rinse it with cool water.

    Carrots when mixed with coffee, make an invigorating body scrub. You will need 1/2 lb. of grated carrot, 1/2 lb. of freshly ground coffee and 2 tbsp. of corn meal. Mix them together to create a scrub. Massage the mixture on the dry areas of your skin and moisturize. Rinse thoroughly after massaging for five minutes.

    Make a carrot salad by adding chopped carrots, mayonnaise, raisins, apples and some cabbage. Toss them together, add a little sugar and put in the fridge to cool. Serve it as a side.
