Microsoft Introduces Windows 8 Release Preview

Microsoft has just made it public that Windows 8 Release Preview is available for download, as it was expected in the first week of June. It is the company’s final pre-release version of Windows 8 and is likely to be the final milestone before much awaited Windows 8 operating system is released.

“We’re thrilled to be at this milestone with the Windows 8 Release Preview,” said Steven Sinofsky, president of the Windows and Windows Live Division at Microsoft.

In addition, the software giant is making new versions of its Windows 8 apps for SkyDrive, Hotmail and Messenger available, as well as many new and updated apps from third-party developers in the Windows Store.

However, there are also some new apps in this release including a Bing Travel app, Music Xbox and Gaming that is compatible with Zune music service of Microsoft.

We are hoping to see large number of improvements in new Windows 8 such as improved installation process, security and privacy along with device and software compatibility.  But before that Microsoft will focus its available resources to officially introduce the final version of Windows 8 in the market.

According to Steven Sinofsky, his team “will still be changing Windows 8, as we have done in past releases of Windows.”

At the moment, this new version still features the Windows 8 Aero theme and is expected to include in the final release.

The company has also enhanced personalization settings for the Start screen in the new Windows 8, and makes it easier for the users to find more ways to download apps through the Windows Store.

The Windows 8 Release Preview includes a touch-friendly Metro version of Internet explorer that is now compatible with Adobe’s Flash player. Microsoft decided to include the Flash Player in the new Windows, as some Websites do not yet support the previous HTML 5 graphics.

In this way there is an opportunity to make both websites and applications better, which is ultimately exciting for everyone on the Web.
