Google Brings In Custom Themes for Gmail

For all those who are sick of all the themes on their Gmail accounts, will soon see a significant change on their account. Google is coming up with a new feature by which you can personalize your inbox with your own favorite images.

Google on Tuesday revealed that is introducing a new custom themes section in Gmail in the coming days. This will enable users to select their own background images, and they will able to add even more of a personal touch to Gmail. Google offered the same feature for Gmail when it introduced its redesign of the service in 2011.

Now you’ll be able to set background images that are available on your Google+ account, besides, you can upload your own image directly, or you can insert any image from other websites. In addition, you can take help from Google’s searchable Featured Photos section to select any of your favorite images.

“Whether you want to bask on a tropical island or simply reminisce about last year’s holiday with the family, your Gmail can now be customized to your mood,” the Gmail team wrote in a blog post Tuesday. “Find your perfect image and make your Gmail your own with custom themes.”

After inserting your own background image, you have to select between two themes, light and dark, for the rest of the interface.

While looking at the previous Gmail changes, Google launched an automatic message translation option last month, which eventually makes it quite simple to communicate with others who used to communicate with different languages. Google also introduced a new tool known as Gmail Meter in April, which shows monthly statistics about everything from how many emails you sent and received. It also provides all the details that how much time you take to reply an email.
