Google Chrome Comes to Apple’s Ipad, Iphone

During Google’s annual I/O developer conference in San Francisco, the search engine giant announced that its Chrome browser will be available to the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPad touch.

“People have been asking us for this for a long time, but we wanted to make sure we got it right,” Sundar Pichai, Google’s head of Chrome, said during his keynote presentation.

The new Chrome browser for iOS looks similar to the version available for Android 4.9 ICS devices, but included some new features like syncing with other computers and mobile devices that use Chrome.

Although, Chrome is quite slow in some tasks as compared to Safari, but it includes some interesting user interface tricks to minimize the gap. The browser pre-fetches web pages so that they are quickly browsed.

The most interesting part of this browser, and the reason many people prefer to use it, is that its compatible with other devices that are also running on the same browser. Users can easily access all the tabs that are open on another device using an iPhone or iPad, which will eventually help them to move from the desktop to a mobile device. In addition, all of the bookmarks and saved passwords can be transferred to the mobile iOS version of Chrome.

Apple is working on a strategy to lessen its dependency on Google’s Web services within its products, but at the same time it is giving concessions to its heated rival. Earlier this month, Apple decided to drop Google maps from its popular mobile device operating system and add its own home-built mapping service.

Google recently launched its own tablet, the Nexus 7, on Wednesday that will run the latest version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. With the launch of Nexus 7, Google is quite hopeful that its product will directly compete with Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet and Apple’s famous iPad.
