How to Remove Coffee Stains from Cups and Pots

Over time, our delicious coffee can cause significant staining to glass, ceramic and plastic of our favourite pots, mugs, cups and travel containers. Given the dark and strong nature of coffee, it is no surprise that a good deal of washing and scrubbing is not enough to get rid of the stains.

Things Required:

– baking soda
– clean cloth
– stained pot

Instructions

    Sprinkle

    Sprinkle some baking soda around the interior of the tarnished cup. Sprinkle some warm water and leave it there for 5 to 10 minutes. You can use any brand of baking soda as most are the same. Be sure to let it sit in the warm water for the proper amount of time as this will allow the baking soda to start working on the stains.

    Wet Cloth

    Place your clean cloth under warm running water. Wring it out well, leaving the cloth damp. You will need this damp cloth to clean the inside of your mugs or dishes that are stained by coffee. Make sure the cloth is not too soft but it should slightly rough so that it can help you get out those nasty coffee stains.

    Scrub

    Using your damp cloth, spread the baking soda around the cup while simultaneously wiping it all away. Repeat this until all the baking soda has been wiped clear. In essence you will be using the baking soda almost like an abrasive so that it can dig deep to remove even the most stubborn coffee stains.

    Repeat

    In case, if doing this for the first time doesn’t clean all the stains well, you can repeat the process from step one. Keep repeating these steps until you are satisfied with the results.

    There are many different cleaning solutions that are now available in the market that work well to remove coffee stains for cups and pots. Some of these cleaning solutions do all the hard work for you as you just have to put your dishes in the solution and you do not even have to scrub the stains.
