How to Create A Cardio Circuit Workout From A Deck Of Cards

A cardio circuit workout can be great way to burn fat and build your muscles at the same time. A prime method for building stamina, shedding weight and calories, and increasing your fitness levels, a cardio circuit workout comprises different types of exercises, which are done without pause – e.g. you start with one type of exercise, then shift into another without stopping or resting.

While the routine is strenuous, and bound to get the job done as far as losing fat and building muscle is concerned, a cardio circuit workout can get boring and repetitive. A great way to mix things up, however, is to come up with a cardio circuit workout from a deck of playing cards.

Things Required:

– A deck of playing cards
– Pen
– Paper

Instructions

Begin by assigning a particular type of exercise to each suit. Do not be one-dimensional with this, and make sure you choose from a wide array of exercises that cover cardio, upper body workouts, and lower body exercises. For example, Spades can stand for jumping jacks, Clubs can be pushups, Hearts can be stomach crunches, and Diamonds can be squats or lunges.

Next, decides how many reps each number will indicate. The easiest and best method is to just take the numbers at face value – e.g. if you draw the ten of Clubs, this would indicate that you have to perform 10 pushups, etc. However, you can also assign different numbers, such as doubling each number, so ten actually stands for twenty, or assigning all face cards a particular set number (e.g. 20 reps for each time you draw a King, Queen, or Jack).

Now, once you have decided what each suit and number indicates, write it all down on a piece of paper so you do not forget. Then, it is time to begin the cardio circuit workout. Start by shuffling the deck of cards, and then place it face down on a table. Now, draw the top card, perform the set exercise, and then draw another card. Keep going until you finish your workout routine.
