    Before you request an update on the progress of your passport, you must know which government department to contact. Previously, the Identity and passport service website was separate. Now it has been integrated into the Home Department website and can be seen at the details below:

    Online Tracking


    The best and quickest method to track your passport application is online. The IPS recommends that you wait atleast 2 weeks before checking your status because a passport takes at least 14 days to process. You will need to enter your bar code number here which is a 10 digit code on the front of your passport application form. If you hand delivered or mailed the application it is on the receipt.

    Request processing time


    The IPS usually takes one day to reply to tracking requests. They will send your answer to provided email address. If however you are still having issues with the tracking you can contact IPS at the following contacts:
