    The ship named Titanic was built in 2 years by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. Carrying 2,223 people on board, the ship left Southampton on 10th April 1912 for New York but on 14 April 1912, it went on to struck an iceberg at 11:40 pm. Within next 2 to 3 hours, the ship sank and many people on board were drowned and some were frozen to death. The purpose of observing this day is also to remember those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
