1
Buy pot rack
You will have to buy a pot rack from any decent hardware store. The size and shape will depend on your needs and budget. Once you have purchased it check to see if it comes with any installation parts like support chain, wire or hooks. -
2
Supplies
Make sure that you have the right tools like a drill and a ladder at hand. If your pot rack did not come with any installation pieces then be sure to have strong hooks, some support chain and wire that you can use to hang your pot rack from the ceiling. -
3
Drill holes
Find the wooden beams behind your ceiling and drill holes that correspond to your pot rack size and shape. Make sure to use the marking chalk to ensure that the holes you are drilling are accurate. Also, drill some holes that you will use to attach the support chain on. Remember to be careful as you stand on the ladder while you drill the holes. -
4
Place hooks
Place your support hooks in the holes that you drilled and make sure that they are very secure as they will have to hold the weight of your pot rack. -
5
Cut wire
Cut the support wire to the height that you want your pot rack to hang from. Also, make sure that the support chain matches that same height. -
6
Attach wires and chain to hooks
Now that you have the right height wires and chain you can attach these to the hooks on the ceiling. Make sure that they are attached securely to the hooks. -
7
Attach pot rack to wires and chain
Get some help as you will now have to lift the pot rack and attach it to the support chain and wires. Remember to take your time as you want the entire pot rack to be stable and level. Once finished be sure to put some heavy pots on your hanging pot rack to check that it is securely fixed to the ceiling.
