District Tube Line in London

The District Line is usually marked with a green color on maps of the London Tube system. The line starts off in Upminster and then proceeds West and branches off to Edgware Road, Ealing Broadway, Richmond and Wimbledon. The District line has a total of 60 station which gives it the most stops on any line running in London and therefore it is the reason why 173 million people travel on this line every year. The 64 km (40 miles) long District line is also distinct from the other lines in the system because its central section is sub-surface, which means that it is not deep underground, that’s why it is the only line that has to use a bridge to cross the River Thames instead of a tunnel like the other tubes lines.
