How to Make a Hurricane Cocktail
Hurricane cocktail is a sweet drink which is made by mixing different types of fruit juices, rum, grenadine and syrup. The drink itself is alcoholic in nature and it is one of the most popular cocktail drinks which is served in New Orleans USA. The drink was first created by an owner of New Orleans tavern Pat O’Brien in 1940 when he was experimenting to create a special drink for his own restaurant. This cocktail is served in disposable glasses as it is allowed to drink alcohols outside the pubs in USA. This drink has another variant which is also called hurricane cocktail and is served in Bahamas. The ingredients are different but gin is the common ingredient in both of the hurricane recipes. You can make as many variations of this drink as you want because you can add any type of fruit juice with rum to make hurricane cocktail. The recipe which is listed below is another refreshing variant of hurricane cocktail which makes use of light and dark rum along with grenadine, orange juice and lime juice.

Ingredients:
– 2 oz. of light rum
– 2 oz. of dark rum
– 1 oz. of grenadine or passion fruit syrup
– 1 oz. of fresh orange juice
– 1 tsp of superfine sugar
– 1 oz. of lime juice or sour mix
– Orange slices for garnishing
Instructions

Take a cocktail shaker and add light rundark rum, grenadine, orange juice, lime juice or sour mix and superfine sugar in it and shake all of the ingredients briefly.

Now take ice cubes as required and add them in the mixture.
Note: Instead of using ice cubes you can also use a chilled cocktail glass for serving. -

Now take two cocktail glasses and add the mixture in both of them, garnish them with orange wedges and serve chilled.
