Attend Isle of Wight Festival from London
Not many music festivals have the pedigree that the Isle of Wight festival claims. The original Isle of Wight Festivals was inaugurated in the late 1960’s. At the time the event was a sensational hit and attracted some of the biggest names in music and defined a generation. The latest incarnation of the Isle Of Wight festival has continued with the tradition and is one of the most well known musical festivals in the United Kingdom. The event brings to the stage some of musics biggest names from the Rolling Stones to Jay Z. Isle Of Wight is far away from most large cities and takes place in open spaces. There are many booths set up to provide drinks and entertainment along side the larger stages.

History
The original Isle of Wight festivals took place from 1968 to 1970. Foulk Brothers were the organizers of the festival. They were able to attract big names like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix. The newest version has no affiliation to the older festival but has taken many aspects of the classic version. The new IOW Festival started in 2002 an is run by Solo Music Agency. It has chosen Seaclose Park as its center point and has progressively expanded further. Just as before contemporary mega artists have performed at the event in recent years. -

Activities
The main attraction is the music and the artists. The Main Arena is where all the big name artists perform, while lesser known acts has stages all around the site. The venue also supports camping so that people attending the festival can have a proper place to stay. There is also an area called the KidsZone which has entertainment and games for children. The whole event venue is lined with concession stands and drinks bars so that people can easily purchase refreshments. The festival tries to be eco- friendly as possible and calls this aspect Ecoaction. There are several exhibits about environmentally friendly sujects including The Hive. -

How to Get there
Newport is at 84.91 miles away from the center on London and in case you wish to drive your own car then after approximately in 3 hours you will reach to your destination. All the way from London till the Seaclose Park the journey is full of excitement because of the extra ordinary scenery of south end of England.
By Bus
The closest bus stop is called Fairlee, adjacent to Medina Leisure Centre. People can use bus numbers 5, 9 and 25 to get there. After getting of on to Fairlee Road go north and make a left into the private road. Make another left up ahead and you will reach the venue View Map.
