With the advent of the twenty first century, it has brought industrialization to its peak, spreading pollution which is killing the wildlife, especially birds. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, commonly known as WWT, is attempting to save the wetlands to benefit the wildlife as well as people. London Wetland is one such attempt, and is one of the best attempts by the organization to attract and save thousands of birds from all around the world. The wetland centre is constructed over 42 hectares of area and is considered a good and pleasing visiting place for people of every age. You can see hundreds of bird species flying there and there are beautifully built walking tracks, cafes and shops at the centre. It also has some very beautiful and well managed picnic places; so you can visit in the summer to enjoy a picnic with your friends and family. History
The Wildfowl Wetland trust London was first opened in 2000 and then in 2002, the site of this centre was allocated as a special site of scientific interest and from then on, it has been serving as a wetland centre for research and tourist activities. -

Operational Hours
In summer, the centre opens from 9:30 am to 6 pm and in winters, it opens from 9:30 am to 5 pm. The centre opens seven days a week, except on the 25th of December. -

Tickets and Entry Requirements
The entry in to the centre is not free. Normal adult tickets cost £10.99. 65+, students and unemployed persons can get ticket in £8.20. Child tickets cost£6.10. Children under the age of 4 are free. For more information regarding tickets, visit London Wetland’s information page.
Note: Children under the age of 16 should have an accompanying adult to visit the place.

How to Get There
By Train
The Wildfowl Wetland Trust London is located about 0.9 mile away from the Barnes train station. From the station head northeast on Rocks Ln/A306 in the direction of Station Rd, then take a right towards Queen Elizabeth Walk and after covering a distance of 0.3 miles, you will get to your destination. By Bus
You can take bus number 283 to get to the Queen Elizabeth Walk (WQ) bus stop which is located near the entry point of Wildfowl Wetland Trust.
