History
Captain William Winde, the architect of Buckingham Palace, completed this masterpiece in the year 1703 for John Sheffield, first Duke of Buckingham and Normanby. Later in the year 1761, the palace was sold to George III at a price of £21,000. In 1937, when the Buckingham palace was officially declared the British Monarch’s authority, Queen Victoria resided there. With time various transformations have been done within the premises of the palace, but its ancient and royal look has been tremendously maintained.
With a coverage area of 77,000 meter square, the palace is 24 meters high. The interior designing done in the 19th century used fresh and subtle hues like blue and pink. The technique of Scagliola can also be viewed within the palace. -

How to Get There
By Tube:
Green Park Station is the nearest tube station from the Buckingham Palace. The 0.4 mile distance between the two locations can be covered in a total of 7 minutes walk. In the northeast direction, initiate your walk on the Piccadilly/A4. After covering 43 feet distance, take a right turn towards the Mall and you will reach Buckingham Palace after wrapping up 0.3 mile distance. By Bus:
If you wish to travel by a bus then take the route which will drop you at Victoria, Buckingham Palace (SW-bound), the nearest stop. After departing from the bus stop, start moving southwest on Piccadilly/A4 towards Clarges St. Turn left and then a slight right towards The Mall and then turn left towards The Mall. From there, take another right onto The Mall and the Palace will be in front of you. To cover this distance of 0.4 miles by walk, it takes 8 minutes.
