History
Captain William Winde, the architect of Buckingham Palace, completed this masterpiece in the year 1703 for John Sheffield, first Duke of Buckingham and Normanby. Later in the year 1761, the palace was sold to George III at a price of £21,000. In 1937, when the Buckingham palace was officially declared the British Monarch’s authority, Queen Victoria resided there. With a coverage area of 77,000 meter square, the palace is 24 meters high. The interior designing done in the 19th century used fresh and subtle hues like blue and pink. The technique of Scagliola can also be viewed within the palace. -
