Eltham Palace London

Eltham Palace is basically a beautiful house covering a large area in the Ryal Borough of Greenwich, which is in the South East London. The Crown Estate owns this venue although it is not occupied by the royal family. When the English Heritage was appointed as the management of the palace, the building was restored in the year 1999. The fusion of modern and vintage architecture can be viewed in this palace, which makes it a master piece. A beautiful garden is also present with the Eltham Palace. Since its renovation, it has been kept open for public so that they can also take a look at this beautifully designed Palace.

    History:

    In the year 1305, this place was under the authority of Edward II who used the venue as his residency. Between 14th and 15th century, Eltham Palace had been the favorite location of Royals, including Henry IV. In the year 1933, the Palace was designed in an Art Deco Style for Stephen Coutauld and his wife.  Later in 1944, the Royal Army Educational Corps was appointed with the responsibility of the Palace and in 1955, the English Heritage was declared as the management.

    - You can have a picnic in the south lawn and near the moat.

    - A gift shop is also present at the venue where gifts related to English heritage are available.

    Buy Ticket:

    If you wish to become a member then your entrance in the Palace is for free; fill in this form in order to become a member of the palace. For adults and nonmembers, the price of the ticket is £9.60, whereas children aged between 5 and 15 are suppose to pay £5.80 as their entrance fee.

    From Sunday till Wednesday, Eltham Palace remains open between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

    How To Reach Eltham Palace:

    There are no tracks of tube or over ground station laid near Eltham Palace. You will have to travel by a bus to reach the location.

    By Bus:

    The nearest bus stop is Eltham, Eltham Church Court Yard (Stop K). You will have to take route number 126 from Bromley bus station or 161 from Chislehurst bus station. From the stop, head in south direction on Court Yard/A208 in order to cover 0.2 mile distance. After wrapping 331 feet, turn right onto Wythfield Rd and then a left turn will take you towards Court Yard. Keep on walking on Court Yard and then a slight right turn will take you to King John's Walk where Eltham Palace is located. This distance can be covered in 5 minutes.
