Sparkling Raspberry Wine Cocktail Recipe

A sweet and classy drink, a sparkling raspberry wine cocktail can be the perfect beverage for a number of occasions, for everything from Valentine’s Day, to Christmas, and even for baby and bridal showers. Owing to its sweet, fruity taste, the drink can also be served in place of dessert, at the end of meals. Indulgent, and yet incredibly simple to prepare, a sparkling raspberry wine cocktail is made with raspberry cordial and sparkling white wine. In addition, it is garnished with fresh sliced strawberries and raspberries, which are great from a health point of view, being low in calories, carbohydrates, and fat, and high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Serving size: Serves 4 persons
Utensils: Champagne glasses, stirring rod

Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup raspberry cordial
– 2 cups sparkling white wine, chilled
– Fresh raspberries and thinly sliced strawberries for garnishing purposes

Instructions

  • 1

Start by selecting four attractive champagne flutes, and place these in the refrigerator 15-20 minutes before you plan to serve the drink. This cocktail is best served chilled, so you will want to make sure that the glasses are nice and frosted by the time you start preparing the drink.

Once the glasses have chilled sufficiently, line them up on a level and cleared counter space, and pour 1 1/2 tablespoons of raspberry cordial in each one. This will lend the drink a distinct taste of raspberries.

  • 3

After the raspberry cordial has been added to each glass, top them all with a generous splash of chilled sparkling white wine – it is essential to use top quality white wine, as anything less than the best will make for a mediocre cocktail. When pouring the wine in, do not fill the glasses all the way to the top, and make sure you leave at least an inch and a half of space at the top of the glass.

Finally, garnish each of the champagne flutes with fresh raspberries and thinly sliced strawberries – you can pop the raspberries directly into the drink itself, while the sliced strawberries can be fixed to the rim of each glass. Once this is done, your sparkling raspberry wine cocktail is ready – serve immediately, while it is chilled and fizzy.
