How to Dress for a Concert

Attending concerts can be a lot of fun. You get to see and hear your favourite singers live in front of your own eyes. This is a great feeling and an experience that can never be felt watching it on television.

You must dress well for the concert so that you gel with the crowd. This is an important part of the concert etiquette. It is certainly something that can be managed with ease and there is no real need to lose sleep over it. Just take care of some basics and the rest will fall into place.

    The Concert Type

There are many kinds of concerts and the dress code will greatly depend on the type. If you are going to a rock concert, you should be dressed in that manner. Similarly, a country singer’s concert demands a cowboy like attire for you to look right at home.

  • 2

    Band T-Shirt

If you are going to a concert, it is best that you wear a t-shirt of that particular band. This will look good and will show how much you support the band. Do not wear another band’s shirt as it will look out of place and may also get you some unfavourable looks as fans are often very touchy about their singers or groups.

    Shoes

Concerts are no place for classy dress shoes unless you are going to a violin concert in a marquee hall. The best way to go about it is to wear sneakers that are comfortable and look trendy. Try not to wear anything with an open top since these will provide little protection if someone in the crowd steps on your foot.

    No Purses or Bags

Although you may need them for useful supplies, it is best to leave them in the car. Most concerts do not offer seating and people are standing while they enjoy their favourite singers and musicians. Even if there is seating, they can be a hassle to carry and it is easy for them to get lost in a large crowd.

    Be Yourself

Just remember that you are not going to a business meeting so be yourself and if you cannot find the band’s shirt or the perfect leather jacket, forget it. Wear what makes you comfortable and enjoy the music like everyone else.
