How to Make Crock Pot Wassail

Wassail is a kind of mulled cider drink. It is one of the most popular drinks during the Christmas holidays. It is not very difficult to make, but it take quite a lot of time to prepare as compared to other drinks.

Utensils: Cups, saucepan, spoons, frying pan, skillet and bowls.

Ingredients:
Cinnamon sticks: 10 (6″)
Star anise: 1
Cranberry juice cocktail: 2 cups
Whole allspice: 2 tsp
Orange, studded with whole cloves: 1
Apple cider: 7 cups
Sugar: 1/4 cup

    First of all, you have to take a tea strainer. Place the cinnamon, allspice and star anise on the strainer. You can also use cheesecloth bag in place of strainer, but just make sure that you scoop out the pieces of spices before serving.

    Now, put cider, sugar and cranberry juice in the crock pot and put the strainer or the cheesecloth in the cooker. Place the cooker on low heat flame on the stove. It is extremely important for you to make sure that the cheese cloth is properly place inside the crock pot.

    Then, you have to add the orange and the cover. Cook all the ingredients well for around three to four hours. You have to cook them until they get hot and you see fragrant of smoke coming out of the cooker.

    After that, reduce the flame and slightly remove the strainer or the cheesecloth. You should wear gloves for protection from the heat.

    Put it aside for a while, but make sure that it is still hot before serving. You can also use cinnamon stick along with a slice of an orange to make the Wassail look good. You must serve it hot.
