How to Write an Acting Resume

There are countless people who want to make it in show business but they don’t know how. Creating a professional acting resume is the most important thing you can do. Remember, everything depends on your resume as no casting director, agency or production house will call you if your resume is not impressive.

However, it does not mean that you won’t do anything after dropping the resume rather you should stay in touch with the relevant person. Though, creating a professional acting resume is a bit different from a regular resume but you can do it by following some simple directions.

    Try to look at things from a different angle and present information in a unique manner to lock people's attention. Instead of sending your resume in an envelope, you can make a sample video in which you will cover yourself from different angles to present different shades of your personality.

    Sometimes, casting agencies or directors demand your photographs so you should use different camera angles to boost your persona. Get copies of these photographs and attach them to your resume. Do not staple your pictures rather you should use only a clip to place these photographs on top of the resume.

    Now, you will write your name in bold letters and then mention your complete contact information. You can choose a professional name but then do not change it ever as it will be your identity in the industry. If you are associated with a promoting agency, keep the clauses of your contract in your mind and make deals through your agents.

    After giving your personal details, it’s time describe your vitals such as height, weight, voice timbre, colour of eyes and hair etc. Give accurate details and do not exaggerate.

    If you have some professional training then do mention it as it always leaves a positive impact. Moreover, it tells that you are not an accidental actor rather you have been planning to pursue this as a career.

    If you have worked in some projects then give a brief history of your career. Name all the projects and your role in those projects. Moreover, if you also have some other talents like directing or writing then do inform them as they may consider you for something else.
