Now file your nails in the shape you want. Round shape filing is going to help you avoid nail breakage. File your nails in one direction to avoid jagged ends.

Now push back the cuticles. Do not pull the cuticles out. Push them back softly with your fingers. You can use a cuticle moisturizer to soften them up.

Now moisturize your hands with a lotion and soften them up. Massage them well.

Apply a base coat of polish. This can be a skin color. Let the base coat dry well before you proceed. Else, you will end up with smudged polish.

After the base coat is dry, apply a thin coat any nail polish color that you want. Use good quality nail polishes that keep for long and do not harm your nails. Let the first coat dry. Apply another coat to deepen the color. Let it dry well.
