You need to find out who are the new neighbours moving in. They might be a new couple, a family with kids or some elderly retired couple. You need to know this so you can welcome them accordingly. You can find this information from friends, neighbours or even the estate agent who sold the house. -

You can make some freshly baked homemade thing or simply buy something from bakery and give it to the new neighbours. You can bake a cake, fresh batch of cookies or hot meal which you can eat on the spot. With cookies, you can even make a cup of coffee or offer a spare kettle unless they are settled. Besides these, you can give a welcome basket to the neighbours. You need to meet the new neighbours in person. Walkover to their house with your whole family and meet them. You can ask them for any help or assistance. Don’t let them know you have done thorough investigation and ask little things like how many children they have after looking at the toys. You need to keep the conversation short and to the point. This is because they must be tired of travelling and unpacking.
