First of all, you need to get the required components for building the Arapuca bird trap and should also get information of how to combine these components to build a perfect trap.
-
2
Take four sticks which should be equal in size and should be straight. Make sure that all sticks should be equally long and thick which will provide a solid base to the trap.
-
3
You should decide the size of trap and then choose these four sticks accordingly. The size of these four sticks will determine the size of the Arapuca bird trap. So, you should be careful in choosing the size of the sticks in order to build an Arapuca bird trap of a required size.
-
4
Now you need to place two sticks on the ground. Make sure you place them in parallel position and the distance between both of the sticks should also be equal to their length.
-
5
After that take a string and bind it on the top edge of one stick and then to the top edge of the other stick. Similarly, repeat the process with the other ends of both sticks by binding them with the string.
-
6
Now you need to use the string to form X shape by binding the top of one stick and the bottom of other stick. Repeat the process with remaining ends of both sticks which will complete the X shape.
-
7
Now you should use the remaining two sticks and place them under the string. Make sure that one stick is placed across the attached sticks in order to make a third side and then use the other stick to form the fourth side of square.
-
8
Then take a few shorter sticks and insert them into the base of the square. Make sure you do the same process with string by binding one stick’s top and the other’s bottom.
-
9
Now take a stick that has a natural shape of Y and it should be almost one third of the overall height of the whole structure.
-
10
After that take a support stick and place it vertically where you want to set the Arapuca bird trap. Then take the Y stick and place it on the top of the support stick.
-

Now you should place the structure above the Y shaped stick which will hold it firmly. Then place the bait or other food items in the middle of Arapuca bird trap.
